New beginnings

Happy New Year Folks!

I want to first express my gratitude for your support over the past year. Exciting developments are on the horizon for my upcoming fashion line, so keep your eyes peeled for what's in store!

How do you usually spend your New Years? Personally, I lean towards a lowkey celebration at home or dinner at a local spot. Reflecting on past celebrations, though, my most memorable New Year's was undoubtedly in Paris in 2017. I went there specifically to see Musée des Arts Décoratif’s “Dior: Designer of Dreams” exhibit, a dream come true for this fashion history buff.

This New Year’s, though, I’ll definitely be taking advantage of the fact that it’s the only day of the year that I can sparkle and shine as much as I want! I purchased this lavish sequined cape from Anthropologie. I love that it can be paired with a sleek black ensemble for a subtle look or thrown over a contrasting color like winter white or purple for a splashier effect.

Another trend catching my eye is the silver jumpsuit, like this fabulous piece from Nordstrom. Jumpsuits always just seem to embody polish and sophistication. For me and my long torso, jumpsuits don’t fit well so if I do pick up a jumpsuit, I’ll have it tailored to be a 2-piece ensemble.

On the topic of resolutions, my philosophy is a resounding "just say no!" While some are energized by approaching the new year with a sense of renewal, I prefer to steer clear of the pressure associated with optimizing my future self and enjoy the present self I am. On a more personal note, as I celebrate my 63rd birthday this New Year's Day, I will be embracing an inspiring word for 2024: "Thrive! I am focusing on health right now and I want to enjoy the healthy journey of discovering nourishing food and fun ways to move. I think "thrive" captures that perfectly!

Here's to a spectacular New Year filled with endless possibilities. Cheers to you and the adventures that lie ahead!
